Daniel O. Phelan, Esq. is the Director of the Center for Diabetes Rights at Eisenberg & Baum, LLP. With an extensive roster of favorable outcomes in his matters throughout his law career, Daniel has dedicated his craft and experience to discrimination litigation and the representation of those suffering from Type 1 Diabetes.
He is the recipient of the prestigious Dr. Max Reich Award for Excellence in Civil Trial Advocacy, only awarded to one person per year.
Daniel is admitted to practice law in the State of New York, as well as the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Daniel's practice areas include disability discrimination law, corporate for-profit and nonprofit transactions, and contract law.
Daniel also provides philanthropic services as the founder, and current Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Type 1 Action Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 tax-exempt nonprofit organization dedicated to the empowerment and education of communities, families and students facing Type 1 Diabetes.
Through the platform of the Type 1 Action Foundation, as well as his platform as a former professional baseball player, and having Type 1 Diabetes himself, Daniel delivers powerful keynote speeches that show those affected by Type 1 Diabetes that they can do anything with the disease, and to never let the disease hold them back.
